Beer Gardens Open: 2022 Guide To Milwaukee County Beer Gardens
MILWAUKEE, WI — A couple of beer gardens have already opened in Milwaukee County, marking the beginning of the 2022 beer garden season.
Two gardens, one in Whitnall Park and another in Estabrook Park, are already serving up brews, while several others across the area are expected to open in the coming weeks and months.
The weather will continue to warm up, so if you’re looking for a way to spend a couple of hours in a park near you, here’s your Patch guide to the 2022 beer garden season in Milwaukee County:

Now Open
Estabrook Park Beer Garden
The Estabrook Park Beer Garden, located at 4600 Estabrook Parkway, kicked off its 2022 season on Friday with a special keg tapping.

Another keg tapping has been scheduled for Saturday in the name of German Beer Day. The garden will tap a keg of Hofbräu Dunkel beer at noon, and free samples from the keg will be available when they last.
If you miss the free samples, the garden has plenty of beer of course, plus food and frequent live music. The garden is situated in vast Estabrook park, where you can take a long walk along the Milwaukee River, check out waterfalls leftover from historic mining operations, play a round of disc golf, and much more. Whitnall Park Beer Garden
The Whitnall Park Beer Garden, located at 8831 North Root River Parkway in Greendale, opened for the 2022 season at 11 a.m. on Saturday, according to its website. The garden offers over 24 craft taps, including beer, wine, cider and more.
The spot’s open weekdays 4-9 p.m. and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on weekends.
The garden is located in Whitnall Park, a sprawling piece of land that includes a nature center, botanical gardens and segments of the famed Oak Leaf Trail. Learn more about the garden from its website.
South Shore Terrace
The South Shore Terrace Kitchen and Beer Garden, located at 2900 South Shore Drive in Milwaukee, is now open for the 2022 season, according to its website. Serving up exclusive Miller beers, food, and a side of Lake Michigan views, the open-air garden also features a 1930s bathhouse. More information is available at the garden’s website.
Hubbard Park Beer Garden
The Hubbard Park Beer Garden is open year-round in Shorewood with food and a variety of beers. The outdoor space offers plenty of picnic tables alongside views of the Milwaukee River.

Beer Gardens Opening Soon
A host of beer gardens across the county are slated to open this spring and summer. From traveling gardens to temporary ones, here’s are more gardens to check out this 2022 season.
Milwaukee County Parks Traveling Gardens
The 2022 schedule for the county’s traveling garden schedule was released in March. Two restored firetrucks converted into beer trucks will rove the county over the course of the summer serving up beers and other beverages.
The revenue collected goes back to the parks, and you’ll be able to find the gardens on certain dates at places like Froemming Park in Franklin, Grant Park in South Milwaukee, Doctor’s Park in Fox Point and others. Here are the full schedules for each tour:

- Juneau Park: May 11-30.
- Cooper Park: June 1-19.
- Grant Park: June 22 – July 10.
- Lake Park: July 13-31.
- Greenfield Park: Aug. 3-21.
Pass Me a Pint Tour
- Froemming Park: May 25 – June 12.
- Juneau Park: June 15 – July 4.
- McCarty Park: July 6-24.
- Doctors Park: July 27 – Aug. 14.
- Juneau Park: Aug. 17 – Sept. 5.

Oak Creek Pop Up Beer Gardens
Pop-up beer gardens are set to come to Oak Creek’s Drexel Town Square every third weekend between June and August. Local craft brews plus live entertainment and family-friendly activities are set to join the taps.
The schedule has gardens popping up June 16-18, July 14-16, and Aug. 18-20. Hours are 4-9 p.m.
