Here are the top four stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:

1. Woodstock’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony is being held Friday as planned, but because of the potential for inclement weather, the ceremony has been moved indoors to the Woodstock Senior Center at 223 Arnold Mill Road. The Major General Warren R. Johnson Marine Corps League Detachment #1311 in Woodstock, American Legion Post 316 Woodstock and Warriors’ Watch Riders will be there to celebrate and honor the veterans that have given us the liberty and freedom we hold sacred. The ceremony starts at 7 p.m., and there will be a coffee and donut social afterwards, offering a chance to visit with our local veterans. (Downtown Woodstock via Facebook and Visit Woodstock)
2. Fire Station 24 in Woodstock has opened and is back to standard operations after a car crashed into the building and a transformer and backup generator located on the property. The cause of the Sunday crash is still under investigation, and while there were firefighters in the building at the time of the accident, none were injured. The driver was attended to at the accident site and transported to the hospital. (Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch)
3. Cherokee Recreation & Parks is holding an adult and pediatric First Aid / CPR / AED Red Cross Training course this month. Certification will be awarded upon completion of the class. If you do wish to take part, there is an online portion of the class required to be finished prior to the in-person class on November 20. The course is for those aged 15 and up and will be led by Red Cross instructors. 4. Would you like to help local students in need? The Service League of Cherokee County is collecting donations of hygiene items for its Kits 4 Kids program until December 2.
