Barbasol & Disc Golf Pro Tour Announce Partnership for 2022 Tour Championship
October 4th, 2022: The Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) is proud to announce that Barbasol, America’s #1 shaving cream brand, is now the presenting partner of the 2022 Tour Championship thanks to an agreement brokered by CSMG, on behalf of the DGPT. The 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship presented by Barbasol will take place at Nevin Park in Charlotte, North Carolina, October 13th-16th.
“The DGPT fits right into our strategy of targeting active people on the go,” said Barbasol VP of Marketing, Tim McNamara. “Disc golf’s explosive growth and broad participation makes it an attractive partnership where we can connect with this passionate fan base.”
In addition to the partnership with Barbasol, the DGPT is pleased to announce that this year’s Tour Championship will award the largest purse in disc golf history. A total purse of just over $300,000 will be split among thirty-two men and sixteen women, with equal payouts of $35,000 going to both the FPO & MPO champions.
“The Tour Championship continues to show the growth potential of our sport,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO & Tour Director. “We’re delighted to be working with Barbasol and are thankful for their support of our crowning event. Our shared mission of providing exceptional quality and honest value to our patrons made this partnership an obvious choice for us.”
“Partnerships like these wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of the DGPT team, our event directors & media partners, the PDGA, CSMG, and most of all, the players. They continue to push the sport to new levels and capture the hearts and minds of our growing fanbase,” said Sean Jack, DGPT’s VP of Partnerships.
The Tour Championship will feature a play-in event to determine the final player pool followed by four rounds of competition, with top players earning byes to the quarterfinals or semifinals based on season-long points totals. Players must finish in the top four daily scores to make it to the next round. All the action will stream live on the Disc Golf Network. Spectating tickets are also available for purchase.
