City Of Lewiston Releases Draft Master Plan for 187-Acre Community Park Project | Idaho

LEWISTON – The City of Lewiston has released a draft of the Master Plan for the proposed 187-acre, $95 million Community Park project.
According to the City, in 2004, the Lewiston School District, LewisClark State College, and the City of Lewiston formed a “Tri-Partnership” to purchase 310 acres of private property north of Warner Avenue. Today, the acreage is home to a newly constructed Lewiston High School (77 acres), newly constructed LCSC Career Technical Center (29 acres), and another 187 acres in the planned site of Lewiston Community Park.

The plan includes:
- Central Community Plaza – A large, two-tiered plaza with trellised promenade, two performing stage areas, raised planting beds, tree-shaded areas, restrooms, and four courtyard areas for accommodating various community activities.
- Main playground – A striking new playground featuring a large iconic climbing structure. Includes innovative play equipment (zip lines, spinning and climbing structures), tot lot separated from older children’s play area, slides, and swings, with elements of all-inclusive play design and safety surfacing.
- Splash Pad – A large splash pad with interactive river. Features include various types of ground sprays – arching, bubbling, and vertical, overhead fixtures, river “Jet Boats”, bridges, and rock features. Shaded areas also provided for relaxing out of the sun.
- Little League baseball – Four baseball fields which includes one championship field . Complex includes a building for concessions, restrooms, and scorekeeping, covered dugouts, covered spectator seating, synthetic turf infields and natural turf outfields, and adjacent picnic pavilion and playground.
- Softball Complex – Four softball fields (quad) which includes one championship field. Also provided is shaded stadium seating and a central building for concessions, restrooms, and scorekeeping, tensioned mesh net backstop, hard-covered dugouts, synthetic turf infields, and natural turf outfields.
- RV Park – A 48-unit RV camping park for short-term guests during tournaments and special events. Park includes water and sewer hookups, central shower/laundry building, and check-in mini-store.
