Reed City Councilman Dave Burchett gave his thoughts on the progress made on the course heading into the sneak peek event. 

“We are stoked beyond belief on this one. We had a lot of stuff accomplished out there.” Burchett said. “A little bit more to do, obviously, but it is at the point where we can at least give a sneak peek and, you know, get the portable baskets out there and get people to check it out. We’re going to wander the course as people are throwing so we have an idea of, like, if anything needs to be booted out.” 

The course will utilize temporary baskets for the tournament to make sure that they are positioned exactly where they want to be before putting in permanent baskets at a later date. They will also be taking any and all feedback from people using the course. 

“Whatever feedback we get, we’re going to take into consideration or we’re going to take to heart for sure,” he said. “A lot of disc golfers have been out there already working with us. In the last three weeks. We’ve had some new volunteers and new workers that play disc golf that actually came and shot the course with us and said that this is going to be nice.” 

Throughout the day there will be disc golf clinics to teach new players how to drive and putt and do basic throws taught by Steve Hedstrom. There will be cash prizes for closest to the pin and longest putt. T-shirts also will be for sale at the Sneak Peek.
