Flight Factory opens disc golf retail store in Pensacola
As the appetite for disc golf increases in Pensacola, so are the sport’s resources.
Formerly an online-only store, Flight Factory opened its brick-and-mortar shop Saturday at 6103 Tippin Ave., Suite A. The retail brand’s expansion is five years in the making, and is a direct reflection of the sport’s uptick in popularity, said owner Ryan Vann on Monday.
“I’ve been in this community my whole life,” said Vann, a Pace resident. “I’ve been online for about five years, but we’ve scaled so much in the last two years online — with the growth in the sport and some strategic partnerships that we made — it allowed us to take that leap.”
From a vast inventory of the industry leaders in disc brands to custom discs to a plethora of accessories, Flight Factory’s goal is to elevate the performance of every disc golfer who steps into the store.
“We have everything for beginners, kids, advanced players, professional players. We cover the entire spectrum of the actual disc golf discs that you need to play with,” Vann said. “Then there’s all the accessories, grip bags to keep your hands dry, really nice bags to carry your actual discs.”

Then there’s the apparel, designed to make you look cool and keep cool while out competing on one of Pensacola’s many courses.
“If someone’s just getting into the sport, someone can come in and get everything they need. We carry it all,” Vann said. “We’ll do online ordering and in-store pickup. If someone wants to order online and then pick it up, we think that’s another great feature since we’ve got both channels kind of covered.”
The store sells practice targets, too, so you can sharpen your skills away from the course.
“A lot of people want to set up targets in their backyard and practice their putting and different things like that,” Vann said. “We’ve got everything you need to succeed in the sport and to get involved with it. We’re going to continue to keep adding products as we grow.”
Vann, who is the president of the Emerald Coast Disc Golf Club, is also the developer of a new course that is just months away from opening in Milton. That course will be located at the Clyde L. Gracey Community Center property at 5629 Byrom St.
As for the new shop on Tippen, Flight Factory will be open four days a week from Thursday through Sunday. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each of those days.
