Explore Koru Basic Mindfulness at MCC
Explore Koru Basic Mindfulness during a series of online sessions in November. Three sections are offered, including:
• Tuesdays, Nov. 1 through Nov. 29 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.
• Tuesdays, Nov. 1 through Nov. 29 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
• Thursdays, Nov. 3 through Dec. 1 from 2:45 to 4 p.m.
Classes are free, but pre-registration is required. Visit montcalm.edu/events for more information and a link to register. “When Amelia Came to Michigan” is Nov. 7 at MCC
The One Book One County closing event will feature noted Michigan historians Al and Dave Eicher who will share the real-life story of Amelia Earhart’s travels in Michigan during their presentation of “When Amelia Came to Michigan” on Monday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. in rooms D303-305 in the Beatrice E. Doser Building on Montcalm Community College’s Sidney campus. Their lecture and visual presentation will begin with her childhood at the turn of the century, including her family life and education, early flying experience, aviation accomplishments, and her eight years of adventures in Michigan. Nov. 10 virtual tour of museum exhibit to celebrate Indigenous Heritage Month
Montcalm Community College is celebrating Indigenous Heritage Month with a virtual tour of the “Native Truths: Our Voices, Our Stories” exhibit at the Chicago Field Museum on Nov. 10 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in rooms D303-305 in the Beatrice E. Doser Building on MCC’s Sidney campus. The exhibit connects viewers with diverse Native stories and takes a deep dive into issues such as threats to Native land rights. There will be time for questions after the tour is complete. Admission is free and lunch is provided for all attendees.
