Spotlight on Adult Summer Leagues in Crookston – Crookston Times

We’re halfway through summer—hard to believe, huh—and if you’re still looking for ways to enjoy your time you can catch a couple of these leagues in action or join for yourself.
Disc Golf: Crookston’s disc golf club meets at 6:30 p.m. every Monday at either Central or Castle Parks. Depending upon the number of people that show up, they play singles or random doubles. There is no fee to play, as Rock 30 Games in Grand Forks sponsors the league. They also donated some discs as prizes for closest to pin. You do not need to show up every week to join. Golf: Minakwa’s golf league began on Monday, June 6 at 6 p.m. with 19 teams participating in a four-person scramble. It runs for 12 weeks, ending on August 29. The last three weeks will include only the teams in the first flight. While registration is closed for this season, you can get your friends and join next year.
Sand Volleyball: This league, run by the Parks and Rec department, began on Wednesday, June 8 at the Crookston Sports Center. They use three courts to conduct up to nine games from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. As of June 22, Noah Insurance Service leads the 10-team lead with a 5-0 record. Prudhomme Farms and CHS trail behind them at 4-1 and 4-2, respectively. The regular season ends on August 20 with the playoffs taking place the next two weeks.
Slow Pitch: The Times has been covering the Parks and Rec men’s slow pitch league since week one on May 24.
