Here are the top three stories today in Woodstock-Towne Lake:
- Make sure to tune in next week to see Woodstock local Bryce Leatherwood as he performs on the NBC competition show, The Voice. The show airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and streams on Peacock the day after it airs on TV. The home audience now has the chance to vote for their favorite, and the winner will be named during the live finale, airing on December 12 and 13. (NBC Insider)
- Another Woodstock local to cheer on, Caroline Smith has signed with the University of Georgia soccer team as a forward. Prior to signing with the Bulldogs, Smith played with the United Futbol Academy Elite Clubs National League (UFA ECNL) and Blessed Trinity High School, where she was the leading scorer in 2022. Along with Smith, six other players were added to the Bulldogs for the 2023 season. (Georgia Bulldogs)
- The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is holding its regular Saturday adoption event this morning. All available animals can be seen online here. A QR code at the front door of the shelter will become active starting at 10 a.m. today, please scan the QR code to enter the “virtual line.” The shelter adopts on a first come, first served basis, so animals can’t be put on hold. The adoption fee includes spay or neuter, heartworm and leukemia testing, initial vaccinations, deworming, flea preventative, microchipping and more. (Cherokee County Animal Shelter via Facebook)
