Overall, it’s a fast-paced game that requires you to pick up and discard random cards in order to create a set of three that will earn you points. If you happen to collect three of the same type of “burrito card”, you’ll activate one of three events: burrito brawl, burrito duel or burrito war.

The gist of the game is to throw the cylindrical-shaped log at the numbered pins and knock them over. Your goal is to score 50 points exactly, any more and you drop back down to 25 points. By knocking over one pin (which can have any number on it from one to 12), you add the number that was written on it to your score. However, let’s say you knock over three pins, then you receive three points. But if you miss three rounds in a row, you’re out of the game.

Ira Township Parks and Recreation’s annual Easter egg hunt will return to Ira Township Municipal Park and its adjoining trails on April 2.

Each year, Ira Township Parks and Recreation distributes colorful plastic eggs throughout the trails at Ira Township Municipal Park. The children in attendance collect the eggs and can turn them in for various prizes.

This year’s event will begin at 2 p.m. rain or shine, so attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather. ML Chartier will provide hot dogs, and pink lemonade will also be available.

“Our main attraction is Mr. E. Bunny — always a hit with the kids and great photo options,” Ira Township Recreation Director Cindy Babisz said.

She said organizers are “very excited” to welcome petting farm animals to its event this year.

“We will also add a ‘Try Out Disc Golf’ activity for our families,” she said. “One of our new baskets is within the park. We have ordered discs, and the families can see some techniques and try for themselves.”

At last year’s event, there were 278 children in attendance, and organizers received a lot of positive feedback. This year, Babisz said organizers hope to see an average of 200 participants.

“This is a free event and numbers can rise or fall depending on the weather,” she said.

Babisz noted that organizers are always appreciative to their sponsors and contributors, and that the event is free this year thanks to sponsors.

“I would also like to thank the Boy Scout Troop 252 for their help with set up and activities during the event and clean up,” she said. “They are a positive resource and presence at our holiday events and are great role models for all the kids. This event is also open to all (National Honor Society) students requiring community service credit. It is a fun atmosphere to earn credit for your college applications.”

House of Discs becomes one of the biggest players in the disc golf industry.

The trilogy is complete. After a decade of significant partnership, including the joint purchase of Westside Discs, Latitude 64 and Dynamic Discs are coming under shared ownership.

The growing disc golf conglomerate House of Discs has purchased full ownership of Dynamic Discs for an undisclosed sum from its founder Jeremy Rusco, who is reinvesting a majority of his buyout into the parent company and joining its board of directors.

“Latitude 64 made the first decision to go down this path, and ultimately it just made sense for Dynamic to follow suit,” said Rusco.

House of Discs now comprises Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs and its distribution arm, Westside Discs, Kastaplast, Handeye Supply Co., Spinoff Games (Disc Golf Valley), and SportMe, a sporting goods distributor in Sweden. The company is majority owned by two European private equity firms, Vendis Capital and Equip Capital, who acquired controlling shares in Latitude 64 and its subsidiaries in mid-2022.

“Just like Coca-Cola has a lot of different sodas that they sell, the idea is that the House of Discs will offer lots of different disc golf related brands,” said Dynamic Discs President Doug Bjerkaas.

A Logical Outcome

Sweden-based Latitude 64 and US-based Dynamic Discs have worked together with a handshake agreement since 2012. Latitude has manufactured all of Dynamic’s discs, while DD has helped Latitude with distribution inside the United States. Despite the close relationship, there were times where the companies had to make tough choices about prioritizing their own brands at the expense of the other.

“There’s always been some complexities when it comes to R&D or marketing,” said David Berglund, the CEO and co-founder of Latitude 64 and now the CEO of House of Discs.

Berglund said that he long envisioned a merger with Dynamic, even from the early days of their partnership. “There’s a lot of knowledge merging together that we can use to amplify the strengths of both companies,” he said.

A Young and Enthusiastic Disc Golf Scene Emerges in Belize

Team Innova is gladly making a new addition to our 2023 roster. Randy Dueck, Latin America’s highest-rated disc golfer, will be touring in the United States this season with the Innova Team Wings on his back. 

Randy is 2x Belize National Champion, 3x Brooklyn Farms Open Champion (Belize’s longest running event), and 3x Battle for Cayo Champion (Central America’s largest disc golf event). He took down the 21st Annual Southwest Florida Open last year, his biggest win to date in the States. And Randy finished 18th place at the Tallahassee Open DGPT Silver Series in 2022, beating many big-name touring pros. 

Disc golf in Belize is young and growing. They currently have 9 courses open for play, with new courses set to open this year. The first PDGA event held in the country was in 2020. Randy Dueck won that first event and has won every event in Belize that he has attended since. Randy is the highest rated player, not only in Belize, but in all of Latin America.

I’ve driven this car on good and bad roads, highways, and in the ghat sections. It has also been used in the city quite extensively.

It’s been a week since I got the delivery of my Toyota Innova Hycross (ZXO). I had a very good experience with Nandi Toyota. They have been extremely helpful and transparent. I took the car for a Bangalore-Goa trip and back after completing about 200 kms within Bangalore city. I have driven it on good roads, bad roads, highways, ghat sections (not too steep) and a lot of flat twisty roads too.

Thoughts

1. The car is extremely nimble. Very easy to manoeuvre in the city and really easy to drive on the highways too. Just two fingers are enough to steer the car on a bend even at high speeds. Steering is light but does not compromise too much in lack of feel. It is surprisingly good at cornering for an MPV and barely any body roll.
2. The ghat sections were a breeze and effortless, unlike Crysta’s hydraulic steering.
3. The car has enough power and torque to overtake on the highways. There was no lack of torque on inclines, even when the accelerator was pressed only halfway. (My car was not loaded at all, just two people and two suitcases).
4. The brakes are much better than the Crysta. Braking at 120-140 kmph is not a problem with no vibrations at all. The four discs really help.
5. Even though the suspension is soft, there is not much vertical movement felt in the car.
6. No rattling sounds inside the car.
7. The infotainment system is simple yet functional, I have no complaints about it.
8. The driver seat has a welcome feature where it moves back and then moves forward into position once the car is started (like in the 2010 Superb), something that I really missed from that car. Ventilated seats are such a blessing on long drives, even though they are not as strong as the ones in the 2022 Superb.
9. The MID was showing an average of 16kmpl during the first 200kms which was driven in the city. After running the car on highways and ghat sections, it showed an average of 15.2kmpl. The mileage did not drastically reduce on inclines like I had expected it to. Overtaking on single-lane roads with oncoming traffic is what really kills the mileage figures. I have not tried to calculate the mileage myself yet. These mileage figures are probably because of the way I drove as I am still getting used to the car, maybe others could get better economy figures from the car.
10. ADAS- DRCC and…
